The finish is durable, easily cleaned, and non-absorbent. It can be used with oils, alkyds, and acrylics. In addition, the finish can withstand most standard artists' brands of mediums and solvents, such as all natural mediums, turpentine, and mineral spirits. Do not use clove oil. Use a painter's palette knife to apply paint, but to avoid damage to the surface, refrain from excessive force. Do not dig your palette knife into the surface, and do not use a razor blade. If you prefer to maintain a clean palette, clean your surface before paint dries. If oil paint dries on the surface, douse the dry paint with a solvent until the paint begins to dissolve. Then gently remove the paint with your palette knife or a cloth. Repeat if necessary. If acrylic paint dries on the surface, lay a cloth dampened with warm water over the paint until the paint gains flexibility. Then gently remove the paint with your palette knife.
